You write well. Some sentences shine. Keep writing my friend. I was just fired but otherwise would do the paid subscription

Sounds like someone constantly in contact with the absurd and their only answer is to face it drunk. That said, it definitely is a role one can play out of the billions of roles out there. If they had any talent, it will never bear fruit drunk. Gritty, snap shot of a coming of age story. Enjoyed it having lived it.

"give it to me, baby, oh you’re so big, etc etc."

Laughed out loud at this.

I'm assuming you're not that guy anymore seeing your married with children? Always been aware of the artist cliches you point out here & being a creative type myself (musician) it's up to us not to fall for that it.

Nicely done! It's only 1:00 pm here in the mountains, and you've made me think it's time to knock off and drink. Kudos.

As an aside, I'm based in Lawrence KS (insofar as I'm based anywhere, another problem)

Needs work. Seemed kind of 11th grade incel + AI. Some details were a bit 'off' from my experience of the lowlife. 50 year old cocktail waitresses excude glamour and get constant hits from well-heeled guys, so wouldn't look at the narrator. Consider 'scraggy teeenage heroin skanks' for trhe consort role?

Disagree. I think it's just a really good, heartfelt piece.
