Well, your review made me interested in reading this novel. Even if it isn’t auto fiction, that background provides a series of influences which I would be looking out for when reading (which makes me more interested).
Well. I hope this one finds a publisher. I'd like to read it. Being something of a North Korean despot -fiction fan.
I'd tell you my favorite of this micro-genre, but it seems like a lot of work, and I'm hungry. Maybe later? If people beg. Hint: it's the NoKo falls to capitalist entrepots one. Novella, ims. Really, really good.
I've been a fan of Hyun Woo Kim's Tang poetry translations for a long time. From your description, this book sounds exactly what I seek in fiction--something far from the cosy environs of the self and its periphery, something far from any zeitgeist-driven subject matter or familiar tropes. Can't wait to read it. Thanks, David.
I believe Hyun-woo is set to become a great writer.
I do too. He's an exceptionally gifted young man.
I agree as well
Of course you do...
I agree
I am eager to read this.
Fascinating reflections and a bracing final line.

David, if I weren't already a Hyun-woo's fan, I'd be one now, after reading your review. What a privilege to have such an editor like you!
Thanks for the kind words. It was a privilege to work on such a fine book, and I was fortunate to have a block of time in which to do so.
Good writer bad comrade.
